Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine market-driven sales concepts for the Japanese general industry sector based on continuous international market and competitive monitoring, and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Acquire new Japanese customers, establish strong long-term partnerships, and manage projects in close collaboration with internal departments.
  • Serve as the central interface between Japanese customers, field service teams, and internal stakeholders, providing guidance on technical requirements and product development.
  • Coordinate and define special product features and customer-specific specifications together with Japanese clients.
  • Lead the negotiation of framework agreements, pricing structures, and long-term commercial conditions.
  • Monitor the achievement and implementation of quality targets and ensure long-term compliance with customer specifications.
  • Take full ownership of key account management for the assigned customer portfolio and the Japanese market, including regular travel and direct customer engagement.
  • Build and maintain a strong professional network across the Japanese industrial sector, leveraging relationships to identify opportunities, strengthen customer loyalty, and expand market presence.

Your Profile

  • Fluency in Japanese and English; additional German skills are a plus.
  • Several years of professional experience in international sales or key account management, preferably within the industrial or technical sector.
  • Experience or affinity with coatings, materials, paint technology, or similar technical fields.
  • Strong technical understanding combined with organizational talent and a target-oriented, customer-centric mindset.
  • Proven ability to identify customer needs, translate them into actionable technical requirements, and coordinate internal implementation efficiently.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to navigate complex Japanese corporate structures and build trust at all levels.
  • Entrepreneurial, innovative personality with creativity, ownership mentality, and above-average commitment.
  • High flexibility and readiness for regular travel within Japan and internationally.
  • Ability and willingness to visit customer sites as well as the company headquarters (Hamburg) on a regular basis.
