In our career paths series, employees from various departments talk about their professional careers at Mankiewicz. Julian reflects on recent years' exciting events and his company development, starting as a dual student and ending as a team leader.

Julian opted for a dual study program to become an industrial engineer because it combined his passion for science and mathematics. "I wanted to work in an industrial company that manufactures a relevant product. Mankiewicz was big enough for various perspectives but manageable enough for a family atmosphere."

With little knowledge of Spanish, Julian bravely embarked on a Spanish-language semester abroad during his studies. His tips for rapid language progress: "Live with a Spanish host family and make lots of contact with the locals. I also gained much intercultural experience on excursions in Andalusia, which has always helped me on my future career path."

"After graduating, I started directly in technical sales. Being involved in important customer meetings early on as a career starter allowed me to grow personally and professionally. I saw new challenges as an opportunity to make progress. I am particularly grateful to my mentors, who recognized my strengths and continuously supported me.

Julian was soon allowed to support the team in Spain for a while. "It was a small team in a family environment, and everyone pitched in. I learned a lot about international communication thanks to the exchange with Spanish customers. A large network, trilingual price negotiations - that had to be practiced first. Looking back, it was a great experience that I still use today."

Julian now manages a sales team in Germany and shares his international experience. "It's important to be passionate about the topics and to keep your eye on the goal. It never gets boring because Mankiewicz gives you a lot of creative freedom. With our cross-departmental team, we can help shape the company's success in many different ways."
